You know, if you had told just over a year ago that there would be another Indiana Jones<\/strong> film, I wouldn’t have believed you.<\/p>\n

Despite the constant fan support the series had and the reoccurring stories stating that a script was being written, I tended to think that it would ultimately come down to whether the three main principles \u2013 George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford \u2013 wanted to take another go at the series. Lucas was just emerging from the decade long grind of the Star Wars<\/strong> prequels and I wouldn\u2019t have been surprised if he would be reluctant to revisit another part of his past instead of looking towards the future and new projects. Spielberg had been vocal about moving from the “cartoon Nazis” of the Indiana Jones<\/strong> movies to examining the real horrors of the Third Reich in Schindler\u2019s List<\/strong> and would not be able to go back and use them as the villains he had used them as in the past. Most importantly, Harrison Ford was getting older and would he want to put himself through the grueling shooting scheduled these films demand?<\/p>\n

I guess it goes to show you what I know.<\/p>\n

But I am glad to be wrong as Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull<\/strong> is looking to be one of the highpoints in a summer blockbuster season that is already looking to have plenty of promising films.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the latest picture from the upcoming film, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly<\/a>, showing Indy and family racing through the jungle, fending off some Soviet carjackers. Is that really Ford readying to leap onto the other jeep? The fedora\u2019s shadow across Indy\u2019s face makes it hard to be sure, but I think it is.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
