Warners has found who they want to write and direct their big screen adaptation of the DC Comics superhero The Flash. The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> is stating that the studio is in negotiations with writer Seth Grahame-Smith to do double duty on the project.<\/p>\n

Grahame-Smith will be working form a story treatment developed by The Lego Movie<\/strong> co-directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who were reportedly considering it as a project for themselves prior to taking on a Star Wars: Anthology<\/strong> film featuring a young Han Solo for Disney.<\/p>\n

This will be Grahame-Smith’s feature film directorial debut. But he doesn’t come to the job completely inexperienced as he has directed some episodes of the MTV comedy The Hard Times of RJ Berger<\/em>, which he co-created with David Katzenberg. He is also currently working on the screenplay for Warner’s Lego Batman<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ezra Miller has already been cast as the Flash and is scheduled to make an appearance in next year’s Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice<\/strong> and 2017’s Justice League Part 1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ironically, perhaps the biggest hurdle that a Flash<\/strong> film will probably have is the current television show that features the Scarlet Speedster. A spinoff of the CW’s Green Arrow show Arrow<\/em>, The Flash<\/em> TV series has already sped past its parent show in terms of ratings in its first season. Fans have really taken to actor Grant Gustin’s take on the superhero and his civilian ID of police forensic scientist Barry Allen and there is a continual rumble among fans over the fact that the film and TV DC Comics superhero universes are being kept separate. Grahame-Smith and Miller are going to have an uphill struggle to win over this sector of fandom.<\/p>\n
