Warner Brothers&#8217; long in development <strong>Wonder Woman<\/strong> film has finally started production under director Patty Jenkins.<\/p>\n<p>Gal Gadot, who will be playing the Amazonian superhero in next spring&#8217;s Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice before headlining this film tweeted out a new picture of her in character to mark the occasion. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Almost 75 years in the making\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/WonderWoman?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#WonderWoman<\/a> is underway. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/jCa0qRzuW8\">pic.twitter.com\/jCa0qRzuW8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Gal Gadot (@GalGadot) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GalGadot\/status\/667979028398104576?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 21, 2015<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>According to the press release below from Warner Brothers, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremmer, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis have all joined the cast. The press release doesn&#8217;t contain any story details, though it is strongly rumored that about half the film is set during World War One. That was at least in part confirmed last week when actor Said Taghmaoui tweeted out a picture of himself and co-star Chris Pine in period costume. Pine is set to play Wonder Woman love interest Steve Trevor.<\/p>\n<p>Wonder Woman is set to hit theaters on June 23rd, 2017.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>BURBANK, Calif.\u2013(BUSINESS WIRE)\u2013Principal photography is underway on Warner Bros. Pictures\u2019 Wonder Woman feature film, the highly anticipated action adventure from director Patty Jenkins (\u201cMonster,\u201d AMC\u2019s \u201cThe Killing\u201d), starring Gal Gadot (the \u201cFast &#038; Furious\u201d movies) in the role of Diana Prince\/Wonder Woman. The character will make her big screen debut this spring in \u201cBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,\u201d but the new film will mark her first time headlining a feature.<\/p>\n<p>    The film also stars Chris Pine (the \u201cStar Trek\u201d films) as Captain Steve Trevor, Robin Wright (\u201cThe Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,\u201d Netflix\u2019s \u201cHouse of Cards\u201d), Danny Huston (\u201cClash of the Titans,\u201d \u201cX-Men Origins: Wolverine\u201d), David Thewlis (the \u201cHarry Potter\u201d films, \u201cThe Theory of Everything\u201d), Ewen Bremner (\u201cExodus: Gods and Kings,\u201d \u201cSnowpiercer\u201d), Sa\u00efd Taghmaoui (\u201cAmerican Hustle\u201d), Elena Anaya (\u201cThe Skin I Live In\u201d) and Lucy Davis (\u201cShaun of the Dead\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>    The film is being produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder, with Richard Suckle, Stephen Jones, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Rebecca Roven serving as executive producers.<\/p>\n<p>    Joining Jenkins behind the camera are director of photography Matthew Jensen (\u201cChronicle,\u201d \u201cFantastic Four,\u201d HBO\u2019s \u201cGame of Thrones\u201d), Oscar-nominated production designer Aline Bonetto (\u201cAm\u00e9lie,\u201d \u201cA Very Long Engagement,\u201d \u201cPan\u201d), and Oscar-winning editor Martin Walsh (\u201cChicago,\u201d \u201cJack Ryan: Shadow Recruit,\u201d \u201cV for Vendetta\u201d), and Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming (\u201cThe Dark Knight\u201d trilogy, \u201cTopsy-Turvy\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>    Principal photography will take place on location in the UK, France and Italy.<\/p>\n<p>    Set to open in 2017, the Wonder Woman feature film is based on characters created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros.
