\"Ridley-Scott-Prometheus\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Initially, Ridley Scott undertook work on the upcoming Alien: Covenant<\/strong> as the first of two films that would serve as prequels linking into his 1979 classic Alien<\/strong>. It turns out that Scott’s ambitions are a bit larger than that and is now planning on a trilogy of films that will serve as a sequel to Prometheus and as prequel to Alien<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Speaking at a press conference In Sydney, Australia marking the start of pre-production on Alien: Covenant<\/strong>, Scott stated –<\/p>\n

Its a very complex story. Its an evolution of what I first did with Prometheus 1. Prometheus 1 was borne out of my frustration that on Alien 1 in 1979 \u2013 I only did one as I don\u2019t normally do sequels. I was amazed that in the 3 that followed that no-one asked the question \u2018why the Alien, who made it and why?\u2019 Very basic questions. So I came up with the notion of Prometheus 1, which starts to indicate who might have made it and where it came from.<\/p>\n

So I\u2019m now going to the next one, which is the next evolution directly connected with the first one, which was this Shaw, when [s]he replaced Michael Fassbender in two pieces and we\u2019ll kind of pick it up there and it will evolve. When that\u2019s finished there\u2019ll be another one and then another one which will gradually drive into the back entrance of the film in 1979… So in other words, why was this space jockey there and why did he have an Alien inside him? And those questions will be answered.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Alien: Covenant<\/strong> is scheduled to start shooting in March in Australia. Previously, studio Twentieth Century Fox released the following plot synopsis for the film –<\/p>\n

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS \u2014 and connects directly to Scott\u2019s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world \u2014 whose sole inhabitant is the \u201csynthetic\u201d David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Alien: Covenant<\/strong> is scheduled for release on October 6, 2017.<\/p>\n
