Back when Quentin Tarantino was releasing his two volume tale of revenge Kill Bill<\/strong>, he stated that there was a possibility that there could be a sequel to the film that would e<\/p>\n

Speaking with Ben Mankiewicz on the TCM host’s What The Flick?!<\/em> interview show<\/a>, Tarantino stated that that possibility still exists, though he wasn’t particularly bullish on it.<\/p>\n

There definitely is a possibility… Stop short of saying probability, but there could be.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

While stating that one reason to do a third film would be that he and Kill Bill<\/strong> star Uma Thurman “would have a great time working together again,” Tarantino stated that he wanted to let Thurman’s character have some time off before she would have to pick up her samurai sword again.<\/p>\n

I put the character, Beatrix Kiddo through a lot, so I wanted her to have this much time for peace. I wanted her to have some time with her daughter and not have to be on the genre machine. She could actually enjoy her life for a while.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Tarantino went on to draw a distinction between what he accomplished as a filmmaker with the Kill Bill<\/strong> films and where he is headed now artistically. And how maybe a Kill Bill Volume 3<\/strong> would be a nice change of pace from that.<\/p>\n

I think Kill Bill is pretty much, hands down, probably my most visionary movie, in so far as I really went beyond the Pulp Fiction stuff and really created a world that doesn’t exist. Where they have samurai [sword] holders on airplanes where the cup holder would be, and that’s all good. Everyone accepts that. That’s just how it is. Fourteen-year-old Japanese girls hang out in bubblegum bars and eviscerate men and get away with it. So that is probably my most visionary cinematic contribution.<\/p>\n

Now since then, my work has taken a turn towards the literary. It’s gotten denser and denser with this one [The Hateful Eight] probably being the densest of the group. And that seems to be where I am going to be going eventually to, writing novels, writing plays and theater. So it would be nice to go back to a visceral world that\u2019s not about the words anymore.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Tarantino had previously stated that a third film could be spun out of the moment in Kill Bill Volume 1 where Thurman’s The Bride\/Beatrix Kiddo has just killed Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox), one of the team of assassins who had attempted to kill her, in front of Green’s daughter Nikki. In that moment, the Bride explained to the young girl that if she was still mad with her in the years to come she would understand if the girl came to extract revenge on her. It’s a great idea that would certainly further the exploration of the idea of taking revenge that Tarantino was doing in the first two films.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
