We all know that Marvel, like most studios, doesn’t like to like to comment on their casting process until contracts are all signed. Sometimes, though, it seems like not everyone got that memo.<\/p>\n

Over the weekend, Entertainment Tonight<\/a> spoke with Avengers<\/strong> star Mark Ruffalo, and using one ofthe oldest tricks in the book, got him to admit that the rumor that circulated last month<\/a> that Cate Blanchett was up for a role in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok<\/strong>, were true. A note of caution, his answer also reveals what kind of role she may be playing in the film.<\/p>\n

“Your Thor 3<\/strong> co-star, Cate Blanchett, is here tonight, are you happy about that?” ET asked the 48-year-old actor.<\/p>\n

“I’m so thrilled. I saw her at the Governors’ banquet here and heard that maybe she was circling, they were talking to her about the part, so I ran up to her and I was like, ‘Please, please, please make this work!'” he revealed.<\/p>\n

“She’s just one of the best, and to have her play a baddie is going to be really exciting,” Ruffalo added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Although she has certainly made an impression in Peter Jackson’s adaptations of The Lord Of The Rings<\/strong> and The Hobbit<\/strong> as the elf queen Galadriel, Blanchett certainly has experience with villainous roles thanks to appearances in such films as Cinderella<\/strong> (2015) and Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull<\/strong>. As for<\/p>\n

Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner\/Incredible Hulk will be joining Chris Hemworth’s Thor in Thor: Ragnarok<\/strong> when production gets underway in just a few months. It is is slated for release on November 3, 2017.<\/p>\n
