If you are my age, you’ll remember Little House on the Prairie <\/strong>as an essential part of you television viewing habits as a child. The TV series aired from 1974 to 1983, loosely adapting the series of books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, and provided a look at the day to day life of a frontier family in the latter part of the 19th century. Now, the concept is getting new life as a feature film through Paramount.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> states that the film project, which had stalled at Sony, is getting new life at its new studio. Abi Morgan wrote the script for the film, and\u00a0Martha Marcy May Marlene<\/strong> director Sean Durkin is on board to direct.<\/p>\n

While a cynic can view this as yet another example of Hollywood once again mining the 70s and 80s for any form of nostalgia they can resell, Durkin has made an impression on Hollywood. Martha Marcy May Marlene<\/strong> was a critical favorite and Durkin has been tapped to direct the Janis Joplin biopic, Janis. <\/strong>If done right, it could be a film adults want to see regardless of their nostalgic attachment to the property and also one where they’ll be feel safe bringing the kids.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
