So the fact that Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are teaming for an original musical is a doubly newsworthy event.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/channing-tatum-joseph-gordon-levitt-862288\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Hollywood Reporter<\/a>, the two actors are planning on playing pilots in a currently untitled project for Universal which will definitely be in R-rating territory. There are no other story details available at the moment, but it is Gordon-Levit who developed the initial idea with screenwriter Michael Bacall. Bacall, who co-wrote and appeared in Levitt&#8217;s 2001 film <strong>Maniac<\/strong> as well as worked on the script for Tatum&#8217;s <strong>21 Jump Street<\/strong> movies, will be doing the scripting chores. The Reporter&#8217;s story didn&#8217;t specify if Bacall was also working on the songs for the film or if someone else will be brought in to handle those.<\/p>\n<p>Both actors have shown off musical chops before. Tatum has demonstrated some impressive dance skills in the <strong>Step Up<\/strong> movies in which he has appeared, as well as <strong>Magic Mike<\/strong>. Starting this weekend, he can be seen tap dancing and singing in the Coen Brothers comedy <strong>Hail Caesar!<\/strong>. Gordon-Levitt sang and danced in <strong>(500) Days Of Summer<\/strong>.
