While not being connected to much of the goings-on back on Earth, Guardians Of The Galaxy<\/strong> still managed to contribute to Marvel Studios’ ongoing storyline that will culminate in the two-part Avengers: Infinity War<\/strong>. But with that plot starting to kick into high gear for Marvel’s Phase Three films, don’t expect to see things like Thanos or more Infinity Stones in the upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy, Vol 2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a live chat on his Facebook page<\/a> Guardians<\/strong> director James Gunn stated –<\/p>\n

Thanos will not appear in Vol. 2. No. As I\u2019ve said before, Thanos isn\u2019t in this movie. I think he\u2019s gonna have a little bit to do and say when it comes to a certain wars and infinity. We\u2019ve got other fish to fry in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2… We’re not really so much about the Infinity Stones in Guardians 2. Is that a spoiler? It’s not really a thing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So if that is indeed the case, and let’s not forget that Gunn could be lying here, it raises the question as to the disposition of the Power Stone that was the primary MacGuffin of the first Guardians<\/strong> movie. When we last saw it, the Power Stone was being left in the custody of the Nova Corps. If Thanos and the Infinity Stones aren’t part of the second Guardians<\/strong> film’s storyline, how does the stone get put into play for the Infinity War<\/strong> movies? Will we see the Power Stone being sold in an end credits scene of the Guardians film? We know that the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok will be a bit of an interstellar buddy movie between Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), so perhaps their travels will somehow play into the stone becoming a more integral part of the Infinity War<\/strong> story.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
