OK, so that Snow White And The Huntsman<\/strong> sequel, The Huntsman: Winter’s War<\/strong>, is actually a prequel. That’s the first thing we learn in the opening seconds of the new trailer for the film that Universal has released today. The trailer doesn’t unveil any more information in terms of story that we didn’t already know, but showcases a number of fine actors in what looks to be a rather spectacular CGI-fest. Does it all hold together or are folks like Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain all showing up for a paycheck? We’ll find out when the film is released on April 22.<\/p>\n

Here is the studio’s official synopsis for the film –<\/p>\n

Long before the evil Queen Ravenna (Theron) was thought vanquished by Snow White\u2019s blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya (Blunt), suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom. With Freya\u2019s ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen\u2014including Eric (Hemsworth) and warrior Sara (Chastain)\u2014only to find that her prized two defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love.<\/p>\n

When Freya learns of her sister\u2019s demise, she summons her remaining soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror home to the only sorceress left who can harness its power. But once she discovers Ravenna can be resurrected from its golden depths, the wicked sisters threaten this enchanted land with twice the darkest force it\u2019s ever seen.
