Adam McKay is riding pretty high at the moment. The writer\/director’s latest film, The Big Short<\/strong>, has earned him a Directors Guild Award and has him nominated for an Academy Award for Best Direction. So does this mean that this critical and peer acclaim mean that he will be turning his back on the comedic films that he built his career on? Not immediately.<\/p>\n

Speaking with The Nerdist<\/a> McKay confirmed that he will follow up his work on this past summer’s Ant-Man<\/strong> by being involved with the already announced sequel Ant-Man And The Wasp<\/strong> –<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve been talking to Marvel actually. We just talked to them the other day, and it looks like I will be involved. I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s gonna be right from page one. But it looks like I will definitely be involved.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

McKay came on board the original Ant-Man film, following original director Edgar Wright’s controversial departure. McKay helped do a last minute rewrite of the screenplay with star Paul Rudd and was thought to possibly take on the directorial reigns as well. Currently writers Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari are working with Rudd on the sequel. I wouldn’t be surprised if McKay is being brought in to contribute a polish to the screenplay that Barrer, Ferrari and Rudd turn in.<\/p>\n

Ant-Man And The Wasp<\/strong> is scheduled for release on July 6, 2018.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
