Ready for some more Harrison Ford-related news? It seems as if directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller have narrowed down their search for the actor to headline their Young Han Solo Star Wars<\/strong> spinoff film.<\/p>\n

This past weekend, Lord and Miller screen-tested a small number of actors for the coveted role. Among those who reportedly were tested include Alden Ehrenreich, who gained critical notice as the naive cowboy actor in Hail, Caesar!<\/strong>, Transformers: Age of Extinction<\/strong>‘s Jack Reynor, Taron Egerton, the star of The Kingsman<\/strong> and Eddie the Eagle<\/strong> and Emory Cohen, Saoirse Ronan\u2019s Brooklyn<\/strong> love interest.<\/p>\n

While there could be more than just these four, the Hollywood Reporter<\/a>‘s sources are saying that those who did test were selected from a list of about ten actors which also included Miles Teller (Whiplash<\/strong>) and Ansel Elgort (The Fault In Our Stars<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

The search to take on the role that Harrison Ford made iconic in the original Star Wars trilogy started last year, with Lucasfilm, Disney, Lord and Miller shifting through some 2500 headshots and audition videos to find the right actor.<\/p>\n

Looking at the list of potentials who screentested last weekend, I find myself liking Ehrenreich the best out of the bunch. He came out of nowhere to wow people with his performance in Hail Caesar!<\/strong>, and I think that some of the qualities that he showed in that role could easily translate to the role of the young smuggler before he gets wrapped up in the rebellion to overthrow the evil Galactic Empire.<\/p>\n

The still untitled young Han Solo movie is scheduled for a 2018 release.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
