With Now You See Me 2<\/strong> just less than two months away, Lionsgate is pretty confident in the sequel that director Jon M. Chu has delivered as the studio has just signed him up for the next installment.<\/p>\n

Lionsgate was already looking at turning the original story of stage magicians using their abilities to pull off unsolveable heists into a franchise when they announced last year that a third film was already being developed while part 2 was still in production. The first film cleared $351.7 million at the box office when it was released in 2013. Seeing as it cost only $75 million, it is easy to understand why Lionsgate is looking to go back to this particular well a few more times.<\/p>\n

Needless to say, there is no word as to what sort of plotline the threequel will have. Perhaps we will get a hint in Now You See Me 2<\/strong> when it opens June 10. Here is the studio’s official synopsis – <\/p>\n

The Four Horsemen (Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Lizzy Caplan) return for a second mind-bending adventure, elevating the limits of stage illusion to new heights and taking them around the globe. One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public\u2019s adulation with their Robin Hood-style magic spectacles, the illusionists resurface for a comeback performance in hopes of exposing the unethical practices of a tech magnate. The man behind their vanishing act is none other than Walter Marby, a tech prodigy who threatens the Horsemen into pulling off their most impossible heist yet. Their only hope is to perform one last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind it all.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
