An epic film is only as great as its characters are. The first Independence Day<\/strong> film’s characters were a bit thin, but it looks like in the upcoming sequel they may be fleshed out a bit more. If the new trailer just released by Fox is any indication.<\/p>\n

I find this encouraging, and it leaves me wondering what this movie would have been if it had been made immediately after the release of the first one and not now, in the long shadow of the 9\/11 attacks. <\/p>\n
