In the closing moments of Captain America: Civil War<\/strong>, we saw Bucky Barnes, aka the Winter Soldier, volunteering to be placed in suspended animation until Wakandian scientists can figure out a way to permanently remove the brainwashing which had turned him into a Hydra assassin. Since Wakanda is now ruled by King T’Challa, aka the Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), who has his own Marvel solo film on the studio’s schedule, it seemed fairly obvious to us that that is where Bucky will be making his next appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.<\/p>\n

It seems pretty obvious to Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky, too. And he said so this past weekend during his appearance at the Wizard World Philadelphia show. But he also admitted that even he is not sure as to whether he will be making an appearance in Black Panther’s upcoming solo film.<\/p>\n

I don’t know, man. I mean, there’s obviously a very clear answer but I’m not maybe gonna say it, now. Where did he end up at the end of the movie? That’s the movie he should be in. I feel like that would be the natural [answer]…But I don’t know.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As usual, we know that we can’t always take what actors says about upcoming films they may or may not be involved with at face value. Marvel might be looking to keep Stan’s appearance in the film a surprise for as long as they possibly can.<\/p>\n

Of course, there is also a chance that he might not be in the film at all. Marvel might be giving director Ryan Coogler free reign to tell a Black Panther story that does not have heavy connections to the main storylines unfolding during Marvel Studios’s Phase Three films. Perhaps Civil War<\/strong> directors Joe and Anthony Russo are planning on picking up Bucky’s story in the next two Avengers films, which they will be helming.<\/p>\n

What we do know about Black Panther<\/strong> is that Ryan Coogler are joining Boseman in the cast. Everything else about the film will be revealed somewhere between now and February 16, 2018 when it arrives in theaters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
