As cameras started to roll on Ridley Scotts’ Alien: Covenant<\/strong>, it looked as if Noomi Rapace would not be participating in the film. That came as a disappointment, as the actress was last seen in the previous Alien<\/strong> franchise installment Prometheus<\/strong> heading out to space to track down the homeworld of the mysterious creators of the xenomorph killing machines, the Engineers. Since her android traveling companion David, played by Michael Fassbender, was announced to be in Covenant<\/strong>, fans were left to wonder what had happened to Rapace’s Shaw in the space between films.<\/p>\n

Alien fans will get to find out more of what is in store for Rapace’s character as Deadline<\/a> is reporting that the actress has reported to the film’s Australian sets “to shoot weeks worth of scenes in Scott\u2019s film.” No word yet if those scenes will be flashbacks, some sort of prologue to give closure to her character’s storyline or if she will be interacting with the film’s new crew of explorers. I certainly don’t think that we should take the studio’s previously released short synopsis for the film below as gospel. They could very well just have been trying to keep secret Rapaces’ involvement.<\/p>\n

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in Alien<\/strong> with Alien: Covenant<\/strong>, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with Prometheus<\/strong> \u2014 and connects directly to Scott\u2019s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world \u2014 whose sole inhabitant is the \u201csynthetic\u201d David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

We do know that Alien: Covenant<\/strong> will also star Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demian Bichir and Amy Seimetz. The film is set to open on August 4, 2017.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
