The disaster of a film that is <strong>Independence Day: Resurgence<\/strong>. Now, after destroying the Earth through alien invasion, ecological disaster and Mayan prophecy, he is going to do it again. This time, by crashing the moon down on us.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/2016\/06\/moonfall-roland-emmerich-universal-pictures-independence-day-resurgence-1201778886\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Deadline<\/a> is reporting that Universal has picked up <strong>Moonfall<\/strong>, the next science-fiction disaster tale from the director.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This one is best described as Emmerich\u2019s 2012 mashed together with Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, following an unlikely band of misfits who must unite to save humanity when the moon falls out of orbit and hurtles towards earth.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sounds more like a variation on 1951&#8217;s <strong>When Worlds Collide<\/strong>, which Paramount is currently developing a remake of with director Stephen Sommers. I expect we&#8217;ll start seeing a race between to the productions as time goes on.<\/p>\n<p>Emmerich&#8217;s <strong>Moonfall<\/strong> is co-written by the director and Harald Kloser and Spencer Cohen.
