It has been some time since the release of The Adventures Of Tintin<\/strong> and since it did not do well at US box office it would be easy to understand if you thought that the prospect for a sequel had long since faded away. But while doing the publicity rounds for The BFG<\/strong>, Steven Spielberg disclosed (via the New Zealand Herald<\/a>) that the Tintin<\/strong> sequel, which will be subtitled Prisoners of the Sun<\/strong> is still going to happen and that Peter Jackson will be directing right after he completes one other “secret” project for Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment.<\/p>\n

We already have a screenplay, Peter\u2019s the director and I\u2019m the producer… We made a deal to do three \u2018Tintin\u2019 movies together. I would direct the first one, Peter would do the second one and then we\u2019d have a director we can\u2019t announce yet lined up for the third one.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Presumably, the script that Jackson is referring to is still by British writer Anthony Horowitz, who had been announced as the screenwriter for the sequel back when the first Tintin<\/strong> film was announced.<\/p>\n

But what about that film that stands between now and the Tintin<\/strong> sequel? Spielberg is playing coy with what it could be, saying “It\u2019s a secret, nobody knows about it.”<\/p>\n
