One thing that you see more and more of these days is television and film creators being involved with the comic book spinoffs of their creations, and it was Joss Whedon who was one of the first to do so. With both the Buffy The Vampire Slayer<\/em> and Firefly<\/em>\/Serenity<\/strong> comics series published by Dark Horse Comics, Whedon had been there to help insure fidelity to the source material and give them the stamp of canonicity. And since it is looking increasingly that the film Serenity<\/strong> was indeed the last live action appearance that we will get for the cast and characters from Whedon’s short-lived but well-remembered science-fiction western Firefly<\/em>, there at least has been the comic book miniseries to keep their adventures going. This weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, Dark Horse announced their latest volume “No Power In The ‘Verse” which will be written by iZombie creator Chris Roberson and illustrated by Serenity: Leaves On The Wind<\/em> artist Georges Jeanty.<\/p>\n

Serenity: No Power in the \u2019Verse finds Malcolm Reynolds and his crew struggling through some difficult times. Tensions are at an all-time high when the crew receives a call to help find a missing friend. The crew must come together to discover the answers to her mysterious disappearance. Will they find her in time?<\/p>\n

No Power in the \u2019Verse is preceded by the Serenity comics Those Left Behind, Better Days, The Shepherd\u2019s Tale, and Leaves on the Wind.<\/p>\n

No Power in the \u2019Verse\u2019s first issue (of six) goes on sale October 26, 2016. Georges Jeanty provides a special variant cover.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to an interview with EW, this new story takes place about 18 months after Leaves On The Wind<\/em> or about two years after the events of Serenity<\/strong>. If you have been following the crew of the Serenity<\/em> in their four-color adventures than what you’ll see in the one page of artwork won’t be a spoiler. If you haven’t, continue on at your own risk.<\/p>\n
