Hollywood has yet to tap\u00a0into\u00a0the limitless potential of books that are just left of center. However, Ryan Gosling and <strong>The Underwater Welder<\/strong> might be the start of bucking that trend.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/variety.com\/2017\/film\/news\/ryan-gosling-the-underwater-welder-movie-jeff-lemire-1202001624\/\">Variety<\/a> reports that Gosling has signed on to co-produce a film based on Jeff Lemire&#8217;s 2012 Top Shelf graphic novel<strong>, <\/strong><strong>The Underwater Welder<\/strong>. The actor will be partnering with Ken Kao (whose Waypoint Entertainment produced Gosling&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>The Nice Guys<\/strong>) and Anonymous Content to produce the film, with Lemire, Chris Staros from Top Shelf and Ted Adams of IDW Publishing on-board as executive producers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Underwater Welder <\/strong>tells the tale of a soon-to-be father that is working on repairing an off-shore oil\u00a0rig off the coast of Nova Scotia.
