Fan favorites Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are joining forces both on screen and off screen. On screen, the pair will be headlining the new horror-comedy Slaughterhouse Rulez<\/strong>, while behind the cameras the pair is making the film the first offering from their just announced production house, Stolen Picture.<\/p>\n

The film is set to be directed by Crispian Mills who co-wrote the screenplay with Henry Fitzherbert. Mills previously wrote and co-directed the comedy A Fantastic Fear Of Everything<\/strong> which starred Pegg.<\/p>\n

According to Deadline<\/a> –<\/p>\n

Slaughterhouse Rulez<\/strong> is set in an elite boarding school \u2013 Welcome to Slaughterhouse \u2013 where boys and girls are groomed for power and greatness and they\u2019re about to meet their match. The story\u2019s hero, Don Wallace, is a wide-eyed new boy from a modest background forced to navigate a baffling new world of arcane rules and rituals, presided by sadistic sixth formers. Matters of status are aggressively enforced and conversation with school goddess Clemsie, are strictly forbidden.<\/p>\n

But this ancient and ordered world is about to be shaken to its foundations \u2013 literally \u2013 when a controversial frack site on prize school woodland causes seismic tremors, a mysterious sinkhole and an unspeakable horror is unleashed. Soon a new pecking order will be established as pupils, teachers and the school matron become locked in a bloody battle for survival.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Seeing as the pair are too old to be playing school students, it remains to be seen what their characters will be in the film.<\/p>\n

Pegg and Frost first teamed up on the BBC series Spaced<\/em>. The graduated to the big screen in 2004 with the show’s director Edgar Wright for the zombie romantic comedy genre mashup Shaun Of The Dead<\/strong>. That film became the first installment of the trio’s “Three Flavours Cornetto” trilogy, with Hot Fuzz<\/strong> (2007) and The World\u2019s End<\/strong> (2013) following. Pegg and Frost also starred together in the science-fiction comedy Paul<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The pair’s new production company will be tasked with finding scripted television and film projects that are “in line with Pegg and Frost\u2019s unique brand.” And as a fan of their work – Yes, even Paul<\/strong>, even though I think it is the least of their on screen pairings – this can only be a good thing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
