But after a similar titled film beat his idea to the theaters, he shelved the screenplay until recently when he realized a quick rewrite of its framing device could still make it viable.<\/p>\n<p>While I would consider myself an old school Kevin Smith fan, I have been a bit disappointed with his output of late. <strong>Clerks II<\/strong> (2006) and his first attempt at horror <strong>Red State<\/strong> (2011) were probably his last two solid films. His more recent forays into the genre &#8211; <strong>Tusk<\/strong> (2014) and <strong>Yoga Hosers<\/strong> (2016) each had their problems and are hard to recommend.
