Monday, we filled you in on some of the first details about a new Muppet film currently being written by Jason Segel and Nick Stoller, the writer\/star and director of the upcoming Forgetting Sarah Marshall<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Well, the folks over at Empire managed to catch up with Jason Segel an got him to spill a couple of more beans about the script that he and Stoller already have half-written.<\/p>\n

While we previously know that the Muppets come together to save an old theater from destruction at the hands of an evil oil baron, Segel says that the film will definitely have some scope to it.<\/p>\n

It’s going to take place all over the world. Basically, the Muppets are no longer together. So that might take a while to film. I guess they’ve set the precedent in that last movie (Muppets From Space<\/strong>) that Gonzo is, in fact, an alien, so he could well end up in space. That guy’s all over the place!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Segel also says that much like the original Muppet Movie<\/strong>, this new adventure could be filled with star-studded cameos, specifically from others who travel in the circle of Forgetting Sarah Marshall<\/strong> producer Judd Apatow.<\/p>\n

I’m hoping there’ll be cameos from our group of people. I think that might be what makes it work. It’s not going to be raunchy like our movies though! Every time I bring it up with somebody – Mila Kunis, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen \u2013 they say, ‘Oh my god, you’re writing me a part’. So I don’t think there’ll be trouble casting. I would love to star in it myself. I think that’s the plan, but right now it’s just a script deal.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I don’t think anyone would complain, though, if a few jokes aimed strictly to fly over the heads of kids directly to the adults snuck into the film. Remember that the first Muppet special on tv was 1975’s The Muppet Show: Sex And Violence<\/em>. I’m just excited that this is already starting to sound like a fun flick.<\/p>\n
