The long awaited Super Troopers 2<\/strong>, the sequel to comedy troop Broken Lizard’s 2001 breakout comedy, finally has a release date. The movie will be arriving in theaters next year on April 20.<\/p>\n

The group made the announcement today on Facebook.<\/p>\n

And yes, our first thought was that this would have been a better date for their promised Pot Fest<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Almost since its release in 2001, fans have been looking for the Broken Lizard guys to return to their rowdy Vermont State Trooper characters for a followup. A number of dates<\/a> were announced as possible shooting starts, but nothing ever came about. Eventually it was revealed that a “legal thing”<\/a> between the group and Fox Searchlight that was partially responsible for the delay. The group raised the money for the production in 2015<\/a> in an IndieGoGo campaign that met its $2 million goal in just 26 hours.<\/p>\n
