{"id":41149,"date":"2017-09-18T13:30:16","date_gmt":"2017-09-18T17:30:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/?p=41149"},"modified":"2021-06-04T10:41:39","modified_gmt":"2021-06-04T14:41:39","slug":"x-men-new-mutants-wraps-production","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2017\/09\/18\/x-men-new-mutants-wraps-production\/","title":{"rendered":"X-MEN: NEW MUTANTS Wraps Production"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/NewMutants-e1505744892397.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-35971\" src=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/NewMutants-e1505744892397.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"678\" height=\"381\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The latest installment of Fox&#8217;s <strong>X-Men<\/strong> franchise, <strong>The New Mutants<\/strong>, has wrapped production.<\/p>\n<p>Director Josh Boone posted the news on Instagram this weekend, which was followed by a stream of other posts from the cast.<\/p>\n<p>This installment, which will be the first of three<strong> X-Men<\/strong> related films we will get next year, has been touted as more of horror film with superpowers, but no supervillain and no costumes.<\/p>\n<p>While there has been no mention of it in any of the news about the film so far, I have to wonder if <strong>New Mutant<\/strong>&#8216;s production budget is on the lower side for what we see in comic book films. <strong>Deadpool<\/strong> was shot on a budget of $58 million and certainly showed Fox that a smaller budgeted can still bring a blockbuster return at the box office. Horror films in general are low cost affairs shot quickly.
