When director Zack Snyder departed the post-production process for Justice League<\/strong> to deal with a family issue, studio Warner brothers and incoming writer\/director Joss Whedon were adamant that Snyder\u2019s \u201cvision\u201d for the film would be the blueprint for the period of reshoots that the production was about to enter into. Rumors continued to swirl, however, that the reshoot schedule for the film was of a length that could constitute a vast renovation of the material already shot by Snyder.<\/p>\n

In a new interview with Wired, Snyder is asked if he would return to the Justice League project. Rather than just saying that he wouldn\u2019t, he elaborated in a way that raises an eyebrow and lends credence to the idea that the film make be undergoing more of an overhaul than was previously officially alluded to before.<\/p>\n

I’m at a place where I feel excited about it and I’m happy for my guys and I love these people that are working on it, and they’re my family and I think they’re doing an amazing job. But I’ve kind of just let them do their thing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Snyder is just letting them \u201cdo their thing.\u201d Sounds contrary to the idea that they were just doing Snyder\u2019s thing, as it were.<\/p>\n

We already know that Whedon had started working on the project before Snyder\u2019s departure, writing new material for the reshoot phase. It was after Snyder left that Whedon slid into the director\u2019s chair. However, we did recently learn that Whedon was getting a screenwriting credit on the final film. Under Writers Guild rules, for Whedon to receive that credit, he had to have written anywhere between one-third to two-thirds of the final, realized screenplay. Since this has all be written during the reshoot period with Whedon directing, speculation has been that a good portion of the film has been reshot. We may still be several years away from all those involved speaking freely enough about the whole process of making Justice League to get a true picture as to the authorship of the film.<\/p>\n
