Writer Max Landis has been straddling the world of film and comics, turning out screenplays for films like Chronicle<\/strong> and American Ultra<\/strong> as well as authoring such comic series as the Superman origin deconstruction American Alien<\/em>. Now we can report that Landis will be scripting an adaptation of one of his own comic book series.<\/p>\n

Two independent sources have confirmed to us that Landis is currently working on a film adaptation of his historical fantasy comic mini-series Green Valley<\/strong>. The book is published by The Walking Dead<\/em> creator Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment, a multi-media company that leverages original comics properties for film and television.<\/p>\n

Green Valley<\/strong> is set in a mythical past where four disgraced knights looking for redemption discover that the world is far more mysterious than they previously thought. The first issue was published last year at this time and ran for nine installments. Giuseppe Camuncoli and Cliff Rathburn provided the art for the series.<\/p>\n

Presumably, this film should fall under Skybound’s first look deal with Universal Studios. That agreement has already put into development<\/a> Kirkman’s comic book series Invincible<\/em> with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg adapting and Christian Cantamessa and Chris Pasetto\u2019s comic book series Kill The Minotaur<\/em>.<\/p>\n
