\"\"With\u00a0Justice League\u00a0<\/strong>quickly approaching, the promotional blitz has already begun. And it seem to be that a popular line of questions the press are asking the stars is their opinions about the state of the DC Extended Universe. This time, it was Henry Cavill’s turn.<\/p>\n

Cavill was interviewed by The Rake\u00a0<\/a> and he discussed Warner’s troubles with their DC Comics shared universe before\u00a0Wonder Woman:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even if Marvel didn\u2019t exist, we\u2019d struggle. There was a style they [DC] were going for, an attempt to be different and look at things from a slightly different perspective, which hasn\u2019t necessarily worked. Yes, it has made money but it has not been a critical success; it hasn\u2019t given everyone that sensation which superheroes should give the viewer.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The whole interview isn’t online, so we have no idea if Cavill also confirmed that water is wet and fire gives of heat too.<\/p>\n

But don’t think Cavill is down on the franchise. Like many others, he thinks\u00a0Wonder Woman\u00a0<\/strong>was a step in the right direction:<\/p>\n

I think it is a wonderful time for the female hero. It is the perfect setting in social politics right now, we need it, we want that perspective, and Wonder Woman has struck at the ideal time and has become a phenomenal success, which is fantastic. Any success within the superhero universe, especially within the DC Universe, is wonderful, because I want to keep telling the Superman story; selfishly, that works for me.<\/p>\n

I feel like now the right mistakes have been made and they haven\u2019t been pandered [to], and we can start telling the stories in the way they need to be told. It is even better to come back from a mistake or stylistic error into the correct vein because it will make it seem that much stronger. Wonder Woman was the first step in the right direction.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It’s refreshing to see Cavill speak with such candor and also show that he enjoys playing the role of Superman. I look forward to what this positive outlook will bring to the next Superman film, whenever that may be.<\/p>\n

Justice League <\/strong>opens on November 17, 2017.<\/p>\n
