And <a href=\"http:\/\/deadline.com\/2018\/01\/steven-spielberg-indiana-jones-west-side-story-directing-vehicles-1202262857\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Deadline<\/a> seems to think it could very well be <strong>Indiana Jones 5<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Deadline&#8217;s report does come with a couple of caveats, though. According to their sources, the director has a number of projects in development and that another that could catch his fancy first could be a new adaptation of the classic musical <em>West Side Story<\/em>, a film that Deadline is describing as a &#8220;dream project&#8221; of Spielberg&#8217;s. The site also cautions that Spielberg could suddenly find his imagination captured by a script that moves him to put it into production right away, much like Liz Hannah\u2019s screenplay for <strong>The Post<\/strong> recently did.<\/p>\n<p>The Indiana Jones franchise migrated to Disney as part of the studio&#8217;s acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2013. Although the studio&#8217;s main concentration was in reviving Lucasfilm&#8217;s Star Wars franchise, they have been quietly developing a new installment of the Harrison Ford-led adventure franchise for some time, with David Koepp working on the screenplay. Meanwhile, scripter Tony Kushner has been working on the proposed new adaptation of <em>West Side Story<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>So things are currently in a state of flux and Spielberg&#8217;s interest could change at the drop of a hat.
