Rumors have recently been circulating that Trainspotting<\/strong> director Danny Boyle was lining up to direct the next installment of the James Bond franchise and now the director has pretty much confirmed it.<\/p>\n

Speaking with British publication Metro, Boyle pretty much let the cat out of the bag –<\/p>\n

We are working on a [Bond 25] script right now. And it all depends on that really. I am working on a Richard Curtis script at the moment. We hope to start shooting in six to seven weeks. Then \u2018Bond\u2019 would be right at the end of the year. But we are working on them both right now… John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment. And it all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Richard Curtis project Boyle is mentioning is a musical\/comedy being written by the Love, Actually<\/strong> screenwriter for Universal. No other real details about the project have been announced.<\/p>\n

As the Bond film producers tend to keep their cards close to the vest as to what their plans are for the franchise, it is always a good rule of thumb to not believe any Bond-related rumor until it is officially announced. But it is really hard to interpret Boyle\u2019s words in any other way than after he finishes a project he will be shooting this spring, he will be diving into Bond 25<\/strong>. It is a bit surprising that he would jump right into a complex, big budget film like the type Bond movies are almost immediately after finishing off his other film. But Doyle pretty much admits that he has been developing both simultaneously, possibly with pre-production work continuing on Bond through the production of the Curtis-scripted project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
