If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Sony’s\u00a0Spider-Man\u00a0<\/strong>spin-off films it’s this – never count them until the first showing has started. Case in point –\u00a0Silver & Black<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Deadline has news that\u00a0Silver & Black\u00a0<\/strong>has been bumped out of its February 8, 2019 release date. That spot on Sony’s schedule will now be taken up by the Tom Hanks World War II drama\u00a0Greyhound<\/strong>.<\/p>\n In retrospect, we should have seen this coming. In order to reach that release date, pre-production should have been well underway. But, unless I’ve missed something, there was no movement on even casting the film, let alone starting production.<\/p>\n The film will be put on hold indefinitely as the film goes back into development. One area that will be worked on is a rewrite of the script handed in by screenwriters Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain<\/strong> Marvel<\/strong>) and Lindsey Beer (Chaos Walking<\/b>). It appears that\u00a0Gina Prince-Bythewood will still stay on as director.<\/p>\n One has to wonder if the negative reaction to the\u00a0Venom\u00a0<\/strong>teaser trailer made Sony a bit skittish about this film. There’s nothing quite like fan outrage to send studios into a panic about their upcoming films. If that’s the case, and we get a stronger Silver & Black <\/strong>out of it, all the better.<\/p>\n More on this as it develops.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
