His life is thrown into chaos when he meets a young girl with similar powers and who is being pursued for them.<\/p>\n<p>The original novel was adapted to film in 1980 by director Stanley Kubrick and starred Jack Nicholson as Jack Torrence, Danny&#8217;s father, who goes slowly mad from the isolation of being the winter caretaker at a snow bound resort, the Overlook Hotel. Danny Lloyd played young Danny Torrence in that film.<\/p>\n<p>The climax to the novel <em>Dr. Sleep<\/em> features a return to the Overlook. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Sleep<\/strong> is set to be directed by Mike Flanagan, now stranger to King adaptations having previously brought the writer&#8217;s novel <em>Gerald\u2019s Game<\/em> to life for Netflix.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\">The film will follow the life of grown up Danny Torrence as he struggles with his telepathic powers.<\/div>\n<p> <a class=\"mh-excerpt-more\" href=\"https:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2018\/06\/13\/ewan-mcgregor-to-star-in-the-shining-sequel-dr-sleep\/\" title=\"Ewan McGregor To Star In THE SHINING Sequel DR.
