If we do any more articles on him, we can officially be classified a Henry Cavill fansite.<\/p>\n

It has been a busy day of back and forth involving Henry Cavill’s continued employment as Superman. First was the report that he was most likely done as Superman<\/a>. Then his manager came out and said that he was most likely not done as Superman<\/a>, and that Warner Brothers would be coming out with a statement to the effect later in the day.<\/p>\n

Well, that statement was released about an hour ago<\/a>, and, well, a stunning vote of confidence it is not:<\/p>\n

“While no decisions have been made regarding any upcoming Superman films, we’ve always had great respect for and a great relationship with Henry Cavill, and that remains unchanged.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That sounds like something you’d say to a friend that you promised to take to see Weezer, but now want to take your new girlfriend instead. “Dude! I love you! And we’ll do other things in the future, but I don’t know who I’m taking to see Weezer. Maybe Becky”<\/p>\n

A more definitive statement would have been, of course, “Henry Cavill is our Superman. Period.” That was the kind of statement I was expecting when Cavill’s manager Dany Garcia hinted he wasn’t done earlier today. But this statement is so non-committal that it sounds like Cavill is already out the door in Warner Brothers’ minds.<\/p>\n
