Patrick Stewart is in final negotiations to join actor\/director Elizabeth Banks’ Charlie’s Angels<\/strong> reboot in the role of Bosley.<\/p>\n

This new big screen version of the 1970s detective series stars Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska as a trio of investigators for the Townsend Agency. Their employer is the mysterious, never-seen Charlie Townsend, who relays orders through the aforementioned Bosley.<\/p>\n

Now, you may be asking yourself “But wasn\u2019t it already reported that Banks, in addition to directing, was going to be playing the role of Bosley?” Well, you would be correct. But as it turns out, the film will feature more than one Bosley.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> broke the story of Stewart’s casting, but is mum on the reason as to why there are two (at least) Bosleys in the film. Is Stewart’s Bosley the father of Bank’s? Perhaps. I may be reading too much into this, but when the project was first announced earlier this month, it was revealed that this new version of the Townsend Agency for which the three women work would be more of a global security and intelligence service, with multiple teams of Angels operating around the world. Perhaps Bosley is more of a codename and each branch of the Agency has their own Bosley who is in charge and runs the local Angels\u2019 missions?<\/p>\n

In addition to being both in front and behind the camera, Banks has also co-written the film’s screenplay with The Girl In The Spider\u2019s Web<\/strong> scripter Jay Basu. Earlier drafts were penned by Craig Mazin and Semi Challis.<\/p>\n

Sony hopes to have Charlie’s Angels<\/strong> in production relatively soon having already scheduled a September 27, 2019 release for the film.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
