The Wrap<\/a> has announced that actress Katherine Langford has been cast in a role in the yet-to-be-name\u00a0Avengers 4<\/strong>. Marvel is keeping her character a secret, but it is confirmed that she has already shot all her scenes.<\/p>\n

Langford, who earned a Golden Globe nomination for her work on Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why, <\/em>has been cast as Nimue in the streaming service’s Arthurian legend remix, Cursed.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For all we know, she could be playing a waitress in a NYC eatery who gets rescued by Captain America. But the fact that Marvel Studios is keeping her exact role so close to its chest makes fans believe that she is playing a major Marvel character. Theories have sprung around the web about what character that might be, ranging from the Veranke, Queen of the Skrulls to Doctor Strange’s mystical paramour Clea to the Eternal named Sersi to the living embodiment of Death to the most popular theory,\u00a0 Hawkeye protege\/replacement<\/a> Kate<\/a> Bishop<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Of course, this might be just wishful thinking on a lot of those people’s parts. The film appears to involve flashbacks and possibly time travel. Langford could be playing younger versions of Black Widow, Maria Hill or Scarlet Witch. Or, she could be playing a grown up Cassie Lang, perhaps involved with fixing the conundrum that happened at the end of Ant Man and the Wasp<\/strong>.\u00a0 The sky is the limit as to who she could be playing, and a there are a lot more characters that make sense than the ones that are floating around the Internet.<\/p>\n

But if I had to pick one of the theories mentioned above, Sersi seems to be the most logical choice. We know there will be an Eternals<\/strong> film. Marvel has already hired writers<\/a> and a director<\/a> for it, and the studio seems to have the movie on the development fast track. What better way to introduce a new concept to fans than to showcase their most colorful cast member in one of the biggest films in the franchise.<\/p>\n

Hopefully we’ll find out more before the film is released on May 3, 2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
