Nick Nolte is joining the cast of Lucasfilm’s hotly anticipated Star Wars: The Mandalorian<\/em> television series which will be premiering after Disney launches their streaming service Disney+ late next year.<\/p>\n

There is no word as to what kind of role Nolte will be playing. But if anything, Nolte has a bit of a type to the characters he’s playing, an older, grizzled wisdom from bad experiences sort who lend a hand to the hero.<\/p>\n

The show has already been in production for several weeks, but interestingly enough, the Hollywood Reporter’s announcement of this casting notes that “[t]he series is heavy on visual effects, costumes and makeups, which will allow actors to come and go as well as, in some cases, be cast later in the production process than usual.”<\/p>\n

Nolte is now the third actor who has been announced as part of the project. Previously, Pedro Pascal was announced as being the lead for the series. Gina Carano has also been cast in an unknown role.<\/p>\n

The series was the brainchild of Jon Favreau, who is directing two of the ten ordered episodes. Other directors coming on to direct include Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa and Deborah Chow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
