Are you getting tired of Disney making live-action versions of their classic animated films? No? Good, because now they are making prequels to the live-action remakes of their live-action films.<\/p>\n

The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> is saying that I, Tonya<\/strong>‘s director Craig Gillespie is in talks to take over the helm on\u00a0Cruella<\/strong>, the origin story for the classic Disney villainess Cruella De Vil. Emma Stone will be starring as the titular character.<\/p>\n

The character was previously brought to live-action life by Glenn Close in 1996’s live action 101 Dalmatians <\/strong>and that film’s 2000 sequel, 102 Dalmatians<\/strong>. Cruella <\/strong>will be set in the 1980s and feature a “punk rock vibe.”<\/p>\n

Gillespie replaces Mozart of the Jungle<\/strong>‘s Alex Timber, who was originally slated to direct. However, he is also directing two Broadway productions, Moulin Rouge <\/strong>and Beetlejuice<\/strong>, and his commitment to them tore him away from this film.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
