Guardians Of The Galaxy<\/strong> and The Party’s Just Beginning<\/strong> star Karen Gillian will be heading up the cast of the action thriller Gunpowder Milkshake<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The project is from writing\/directing duo Aharon keshales and Navot Papushado, the team behind the Israeli hit Big Bad Wolves<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to the Hollywood Reporter –<\/p>\n

[T]he pic is described as being in the assassin genre with a story that spans multiple generations. The entire cast is envisioned as being all-female, with Gillian the cornerstone.<\/p>\n

Kill Bill<\/strong>, the opus by Big Bad Wolves<\/strong> fan Quentin Tarantino, and Edgar Wright\u2019s Baby Driver<\/strong> are touchstones of the project, with “stylish,” “snappy” and “violent” its watchwords.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Between her work in the Marvel Studios franchise and last year’s Jumanji: Welcome To The jungle<\/strong>, Gillian has been working in some high profile, and highly profitable, projects as of late. Gunpowder Milkshake<\/strong> will be her first test of being able to open up a film not based on a pre-existing property in part on just her name recognition.<\/p>\n

Gillian reports for work on the follow up to Jumanji: Welcome To The jungle<\/strong> next month, and should head over to the Gunpowder Milkshake<\/strong> set in Berlin after the Jumanji<\/strong> sequel wraps.<\/p>\n

Gillian’s feature scripting and directorial debut, The Party’s Just Beginning<\/strong><\/a>, hit home video earlier this month after spending 2018 on the festival circuit. She is currently developing her directorial follow-up, Axe Wound<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
