Nine nine!<\/p>\n

Brooklyn Nine-Nine<\/em>, the Andy Samberg led ensemble comedy which migrated from Fox to NBC for its sixth season, saw its premier episode on its new broadcast home bring in the show’s highest rating among adults 18-49 in two years last night, according to preliminary numbers. <\/p>\n

The premier, which picked up from season five’s finale featuring the wedding between Samberg’s Detective Jake Perolta and love interest\/fellow squad member Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero) and featured their captain crashing their honeymoon following some bad news, scored a 1.2 rating in that key 18 to 49 year old demo. This rating was up an astounding seventy-one percent over the show’s fifth season premier, its last, over on Fox.<\/p>\n

Last night\u2019s episode was also the highest rating that the show has seen since New Year\u2019s Day 2016, when a special hour-long episode that aired right after an NFL game scored a 1.3 rating.<\/p>\n

This number will adjust upwards once seven-day delayed viewing from DVRs and streaming services like Hulu is added in.<\/p>\n

The comedy got a new lease on life this past spring when FOX went to cancel it after five years. A large cry to save the show went up on Twitter, led by the likes of such celebrities as actor Mark Hamill, director Guillermo Del Toro and Hamilton composer Lin-Manuel Miranda encouraged NBC to pick up the series the very next day.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
