We\u2019ve been quietly developing it and are currently budgeting and casting. The original Broadway show, which not only adapted Monty Python And The Holy Grail but incorporated various other bits of classic Python foolery and some new material, opened in 2005 and ran for nearly 1,600 performances. It was nominated for fourteen Tony Awards, and won three, including Best Musical and Best Direction of a Musical.<\/p>\n<p>As for who would star in <strong>Spamalot: The Movie<\/strong>, Idle is of course staying quiet for right now. However, he did mention that the previously rumored Benedict Cumberbatch would not be participating.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Sadly not Benedict who has to put on tights or something.  You know those types of movie&#8230; he was very nice about it. Although it is being rumored that Tiffany Haddish will have the part in the film, it would be especially great to see Tony winner Sara Ramirez return to her role of The Lady of the Lake so she could belt out &#8220;Whatever Happened To My Part?&#8221; one more time.
