For years, fans of the popular Star Wars<\/strong> video game spinoff Knights Of The Old Republic<\/em> \u2013 which takes place thousands of years before the timeframe of the Star Wars<\/strong> films \u2013 have voiced the desire for that era of the Star Wars<\/strong> galaxy to be brought to life in a film. And according to Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy, there may the possibility of that happening.<\/p>\n

In an interview with MTV at last weekend’s Star Wars<\/strong> Celebration, Kennedy indicated that \u201csomething\u201d may be in the works for fans of the game.<\/p>\n

You know we talk about [Knights of the Old Republic] all the time. Yes, we are developing something to look at. Right now I have no idea where things fall but we have to be careful that there is a cadence to Star Wars<\/strong> that doesn’t start to feel like too much.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Now I would think that it shouldn’t need to be said, that Kennedy does not explicitly state what that “something” really means in terms of a television series for the Disney+ streaming service, a new film or series of films, a new iteration of the video game, some sort of interactive ride at Disney World or whatever. So the prudent position would be to not get our hopes set to high or speculate too wildly.<\/p>\n

Of course, that has not stopped certain clickbait sites to jump to the conclusion that it is indeed a new film, most likely the one being developed by Game Of Thrones<\/em> creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss that we already know about. But that is just speculation fueled more by fannish desire, and the knowledge that if they frame the story that way they will drive some extra clicks to their sites.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
