Scarlett held the lead with three (<strong>Ghost World<\/strong>, <strong>The Spirit<\/strong>, and <strong>Iron Man 2<\/strong>) to Ryan&#8217;s two (<strong>Blade: Trinity <\/strong>and <strong>X-Men Origins: Wolverine<\/strong>) He tied it up when the spin-off <strong>Deadpool <\/strong>film was announced, and now has pulled ahead by signing on to play one of DC Comics&#8217; most iconic heroes.<\/p>\n<p>The Hollywood Reporter \u00a0and Variety\u00a0are reporting that Ryan Reynolds has signed on to play Hal Jordan in the long awaited <strong>Green Lantern <\/strong>film. He beat out such heady competition such as Bradley Cooper, Jared Leto and Justin Timberlake.<\/p>\n<p>Reynolds on-screen persona is, in my opinion,\u00a0a perfect match for the cocky, authority-bucking Hal Jordan of the script, which was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.filmbuffonline.com\/FBOLNewsreel\/wordpress\/2009\/02\/05\/script-review-green-lantern\/\" target=\"_blank\">reviewed by us in February<\/a>. However, other denizens of the Internet have not been as kind.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For those of you worried that this will force Reynolds out of the <strong>Deadpool<\/strong> film,\u00a0relax. <strong>Deadpool <\/strong>is still in the early stages of development, while <strong>Green Lantern <\/strong>is scheduled to arrive in theaters in December of 2010.
