It may be a while before James Gunn gets to work on Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3<\/strong>, but that doesn’t mean he is not going to work with some of his Guardians<\/strong> cast before then.<\/p>\n

The Wrap<\/a> is reporting that Guardians Of The Galaxy<\/strong> co-star Michael Rooker is in talks for a role in Gunn’s The Suicide Squad he is prepping to shoot for Warner Brothers. According to the report, Rooker is up for the role of the villainous half-man, half-shark King Shark.<\/p>\n

Gunn was hired onto The Suicide Squad<\/strong> this past January with the remit of giving the franchise a soft reboot of the 2016 Suicide Squad<\/strong> film. This new iteration will see Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney and Viola Davis from the original film reprising their roles as Harley Quinn, Rick Flag, Captain Boomerang and Amanda Waller, respectively. Additionally, David Dastmalchian and Daniela Melchior have been added to the cast as Polka-Dot Man and Ratcatcher. Wrestler-turned-actor John Cena has been cast in a mystery role.<\/p>\n

It’s no surprise that Rooker would be up for a role in the film, considering that he has appeared in every single film that Gunn has directed all the way back to his 2006 feature debut Slither<\/strong>. He has also appeared in two Gunn-produced films, The Belko Experiment<\/strong> and the upcoming Brightburn<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

King Shark was created in 1994 by writer Karl Kessel initially as a nemesis for Superboy to fight. Over the years, he has squared off against a number of DC Comics superheroes as well as having been members of the various villain teams the Secret Six, the Secret Society of Super-Villains and the Suicide Squad. Most recently he appeared in Aquaman<\/em> as the leader of a the criminal element in the undersea city of Atlantis. The character has also made appearances on The CW’s The Flash<\/em> TV series.<\/p>\n

The Suicide Squad<\/strong> is set to hit theaters on August 6, 2061.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
