Looks like they\u2019re calling Paul Rudd.<\/p>\n

The Ant-Man And The Wasp<\/strong> comic actor is in talks with Sony to join the cast of director Jason Reitman\u2019s Ghostbusters reboot according to several trade sources who state that Rudd\u2019s character is \u201ca teacher in a small town.\u201d <\/p>\n

In a statement, Reitman said – <\/p>\n

I’ve been wanting to work with Paul Rudd since my short film opened for Wet Hot American Summer<\/strong> at Sundance. I\u2019m thrilled he\u2019ll be joining this new chapter in the original Ghostbusters<\/strong> universe.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Although no official announcement has been made, it appears as if nearly all of the original Ghostbusters<\/strong> cast \u2013 Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver and Annie Potts \u2013 will be back for this new chapter. <\/p>\n

Other newcomers to the franchise include Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace and Carrie Coons.<\/p>\n

Previously, Rudd had been rumored to as being considered to be one of a quartet of new actors taking over the Ghostbusters<\/strong> franchise in a reboot film that would have seen the original team stepping back into advisory roles for the new comers. Nothing came of this iteration of a franchise reboot and eventually the next Ghostbusters<\/strong> film became director Paul Feige\u2019s female-fronted version.<\/p>\n

This new untitled Ghostbusters<\/strong> film is set to film later this summer with a release date for sometime next summer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
