No sooner do we get our first look<\/a> at Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow in Iron Man 2<\/strong>, then the first poster for the American release of the British comedy St. Trinian’s pops up over at Cinematical. (Click on the poster at right for a much bigger eyeful.)<\/p>\n

Based on a series of comedies from Ealing Studios in the late ’50s\/early ’60s, which in turn were based on a popular series of books by cartoonist Ronald Searle, St. Trinian’s<\/strong> follows the misadventures of the students of a posh British boarding school. Headmistress Camilla Fritton (played, in the tradition of Alastair Sim in the original, by Rupert Everett in drag) finds her institution facing twin problems- 1) It’s flat broke, and 2) It is facing being shut down by the Education Minister (Colin Firth),\u00a0 an ex-boyfriend of Ms. Fritton’s, who doesn’t approve of the school’s progressive education policies.<\/p>\n

Filling out (ahem) the student cast are Talulah Riley, Qunatum Of Solace<\/strong>‘s Gemma Arterton,Year One<\/strong>‘s Juno Temple and The Imaginarium Of Dr. Parnassus<\/strong>‘s Lily Cole. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles<\/em> star Lena Headey and The O.C.<\/em> star Mischa Barton appear as St. Trinian’s faculty while Russell Brand pops through as the shady Flash Harry.<\/p>\n

The film hit the UK cinemas back in December 2007 to mixed reviews. The public liked it enough that a sequel, St. Tritton’s: The Legend Of Fritton’s Gold<\/strong>, will be released later this year.
