Hot on the heels of Apple’s big Apple TV+ announcement last week, NBC Universal has unveiled its plans for their in development streaming service which they are calling Peacock.<\/p>\n

Set to launch in April 2020, Peacock will will focus on delivering a variety of content from the NBC Universal corporate library as well as leveraging numerous IP titles with rebooted series.<\/p>\n

Among the PS getting a reboot for the new streaming service are a new iteration of the science-fiction franchise Battlestar Galactica<\/em> from Mr. Robot<\/em> creator Sam Esmail and revivals of two sitcoms – Saved By The Bell<\/em> and Punky Brewster<\/em>. Additionally, the streamer will serve as the home for the third season of the comedy A. P. Bio<\/em> as it migrates over from NBC proper, while the Psych<\/em> TV movie spinoff Psych 2: Lassie Come Home<\/em> moves from Universal’s USA Network cable outlet to Peacock. The big-budget utopian drama series Brave New World is also moving over from USA to Peacock.<\/p>\n

The streamer is not just relying on pre-existing properties for their programming. The have also ordered the straight-to-series comedy Rutherford Falls<\/em>, co-created by The Office<\/em> alums Ed Helms and writer Ed Schur and a weekly show starring Late Night<\/em> standout writer and performer Amber Ruffin. Additionally, the streamer has ordered the original drama limited series Dr. Death<\/em> starring Jamie Dornan, Alec Baldwin and Christian Slater and Angelyne<\/em> which draws inspiration from the Hollywood Reporter feature article that explored the identity of L.A.\u2019s mysterious billboard bombshell.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
