Superman isn\u2019t the only hero having multiple versions of himself appearing in the CW’s upcoming Crisis On Infinite Earths<\/em> event. TVInsider is reporting that former Supernatural<\/em> co-star Osric Chau has been hired to appear in multiple installments of the crossover as Ryan Choi, one of the people who have have served as the superhero the Atom. His character is being described as having “a pivitol role to play in the coming crisis on infinite earths.”<\/p>\n

In the comics, Choi is a professor at Ivy Town University and a colleague of Ray Palmer, the original Atom. After Palmer disappears \u2013 the character seemed prone to vanishing off to explore the microcosmos \u2013 Choi discovers the tech he has used to shrink himself and decides to take his friend\u2019s place as a superhero.<\/p>\n

Currently in CW’s live action superhero franchise, the Ray Palmer version of the Atom is being played by Brandon Routh on DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow<\/em>. However, Routh is leaving that show at some point in its mid-season, so it is possible that Chau is being set up to replace him on that show.<\/p>\n

Crisis On Infinite Earths<\/em> is this year’s crossover between the CW’s live action series adapting DC Comics characters. The franchise kicked off in the fall of 2012 and has grown to include Arrow<\/em>, The Flash<\/em>, Supergirl<\/em>, DC\u2019s Legends Of Tomorrow<\/em> and the upcoming freshman series Batwoman<\/em>. This year’s crossover adapts the seminal 1985 storyline that DC Comics used to streamline their sometimes complicated continuity of parallel worlds and multiple versions of the same hero.<\/p>\n

The first three parts of Crisis On Infinite Earths<\/em> will air in December with the final two installments premiering a month later in the new year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
