Robert Aramayo is moving from one fantasy realm to another.<\/p>\n

The actor who played young Ned Stark on seasons six and seven of Game Of Thrones<\/em> is leaving Westros behind for a lead role in Amazon\u2019s untitled series that will be taking place in J R R Tolkien\u2019s Middle Earth. Aramayo will be taking over the role that Will Poulter had originally been hired for.<\/p>\n

Aramayo will be joining Ema Horvath, Markella Kevenagh, Joseph Mawle and Morfydd Clark. As with all casting news about the series, Amazon refused to comment on the report.<\/p>\n

The series, which looks to be hitting the streaming service in 2021, will reportedly be set in Middle Earth\u2019s Second Age, a period thousands of years before the setting of The Hobbit<\/em> and Lord Of The Rings<\/em>. It is a time that author Tolkien had sketched out in some detail as events then served as backstory to much of the action of his classic fantasy novels.<\/p>\n

The project is gearing up to shoot its first two episodes within the few months with J A Bayona directing. After that, production will go on a four to five month hiatus while the producers and writers map out and script the show\u2019s recently ordered second season. Presumably once shooting recommences, both seasons will be shot concurrently as a way to reduce production costs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
