The DC FanDome virtual event kicked off this afternoon with a panel for the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984<\/strong> film which dropped a brand new trailer for the film which showcase our first good looks at villains Max Lord (Pedro Pascal) and Cheetah (Kristen Wiig).<\/p>\n

The panel started off with an acknowledgement of the film’s delayed release date. In a pre-coronavirus world, Wonder Woman 1984<\/strong> was set for a June 5, 2020. But when theaters were shut down this past March, the film was pushed back to October of this year. It is a delay that director Patty Jenkins understood the delays, but stated that the cast and crew of the film were excited for fans to finally get to see it.<\/p>\n

“We believe in seeing it in cinemas so we are going to stick it out,” Jenkins stated. “But we can’t wait to see it soon!”<\/p>\n

Joining Jenkins for the panel were stars Gal Gadot (Diana, aka Wonder Woman), Chris Pine (Steve Trevor), Pascal and Wiig. A majority of the half-hour was taken up with answering fan questions sent in from around the world about how the cast felt to be back together working on the sequel and what it was like for Diana and Steve to switch positions in the fish-out-of-water aspect of the sequel’s 1980s setting. As the actors talked about their experience on the production behind-the-scenes footage revealed them working to create the film.<\/p>\n

But the big draw of the panel was the new trailer drop. It serves to once again accent the new film’s jump from the original’s World War One setting to 1984. While the first film used a great remix of New Order’s “Blue Monday,” the new trailer showcased the villains of the film a bit more, offering glimpses of Pacsal’s Max Lord and Wiig’s Barbara Ann Minerva, including showing her in full on Cheetah mode in combat against Wonder Woman.<\/p>\n
