Rachel McAdams is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to reprise her Doctor Strange<\/strong> role of Dr. Christine Palmer for the upcoming sequel Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to a report from Deadline<\/a>, McAdams will once again appear opposite Benedict Cumberbatch who plays the titular Sorcerer Supreme of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.<\/p>\n

Of course, Marvel and Disney had no comment, but don’t be surprised if this gets confirmed later on today during Disney’s annual Investors Conference Call.<\/p>\n

As of right now, there are only two confirmed cast members for the film – Cumberbatch, obviously, and Elizabeth Olsen, who will be reprising her Marvel Cinematic Universe role of Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch. Her character will be coming over from the Disney+ streaming service WandaVision<\/em>, set to debut on January 15, bringing along with her some plotlines set up on the show. It is assumed that Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor will reprise their roles from the previous Doctor Strange<\/strong> film as well. Xochitl Gomez has also been reported as joining the cast in an undisclosed role.<\/p>\n

While it is nice to see that McAdams is returning for this second outing, I really hope that she is given more to do this time around. Outside of one sequence in which she rushes to save Doctor Strange’s corporeal body while he fights an assassin off on the astral plane, her character of Christine basically served as an exposition sounding board for Cumberbatch’s Dr. Strange. Hopefully they will find in the screenplay something more for her to do.<\/p>\n

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness<\/strong> is currently set for a March 25, 2022 release date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
